Practical thinking about even the simplest
of tasks can resolve the troubles and
inconveniences of daily life. Consideration of
universal design principles has led to a re-
conception of the humble soap dispenser.
There are some problems with existing soap
dispenser bottles that could be easily resolved.
Firstly, two hands are required to push the
lever down and to apply balance. Secondly,
there is always some soap left in the bottom
of the bottle, and getting it out is difficult and
time-consuming.
Small Pleasures addresses these problems
with a re-conceived bottle. A sloping base
collects all of the soap at the end of the
dispensing pipe, so there is no wastage.
A reshaping of the upper part of the bottle
makes it easy to hold the bottle and pump the
lever with one hand. Rubber is attached to the
bottom of the bottle, preventing it from slipping
and sliding. |
