Fixed Angle is a portable water container
designed to assist the elderly or anyone with
weakness in their hands or arms to lift heavy
objects.
The action of pouring water from a jug may
put stress on the wrist, elbow and shoulder
joints, especially when one has to lift and
tilt the container. This simple task can be
especially diffi cult for the elderly or for people
suffering from weak joints. Fixed Angle has
been designed to pour liquid at the same
angle regardless of the quantity of water. This
eliminates any additional bending of the wrist
or the elbow while water is being poured. This
simple mechanism utilises a silicone spring,
which is located at the bottom of the container,
to enable the liquid to rise.
This design is very beneficial for people who
are suffering from weak joints, as they are able to comfortably pour with less joint or muscle stress. Cleaning Fixed Angle is easy: the user has to remove the silicone spring and wash the container, just like any other. The colours chosen for the container design were white for calmness and blue for the clarity of water. An external indicator shows the quantity of water inside. In addition, the rubber pad at the bottom prevents slippage. |
