Integrating a system of electromagnetic
induction with existing electricity supply
infrastructure, the WIND1000000 wind energy
system combines “green” power generation
with an approach of minimal visual intrusion.
WIND1000000 (or WINDMILL) is an innovative
wind energy system inspired by the designer’s
studies in material and process at the Victoria
University of Wellington, New Zealand.
WIND1000000 has been designed to increase public acceptance of wind power plants, which are often accused of spoiling natural scenery.
WIND1000000 fully integrates into its
surroundings by making use of existing power
cables, thus also strengthening the coherence
between windmills and electricity supply
systems.
In addition, it counters the energy losses in
long-distance power cable energy supply.
WIND1000000 rotates around the power cable to which it is attached generating energy through electromagnetic induction. The energy
is then transmitted directly into the grid.
