Together – Public Chair is a modular public
bench designed as individual interlocking units
that can adapt to different spatial requirements
and social conditions.
Together – Public Chair has been
conceptualised as a public bench that adapts
to the different seating needs of the user(s).
Its design provides conditions for privacy as well as for social interaction. Designed as modular interlocking units, Together – Public Chair can be adapted to the spatial requirements of a given public space, such as
a department store, museum, station or other
waiting areas. The configuration of the bench,
interlocked with subsequent units, creates new
social dynamics with multi-dimensional and
unpredictable interactive experiences for the
users.
The bench has been designed using the
simplest material and manufacturing process,
with minimal material or production wastage.
Each bench is made from a single metal sheet that is cut and bent to give it its three-
dimensional expression. |
