Beginning

The “red dot” for high and the “red dot: best of the best” for highest design quality, awarded to outstanding industrial products celebrated its 50th Jubilee in 2005. With over 6,000 entries from more than 52 countries, the red dot design award is one of the largest and most prestigious design prizes in the world.

In 2005 , Singapore, a modern metropolis became the red dot design award’s frontier in the exciting and growing design scene of Asia.

red dot’s foray into Asia began with an aggressive pace with the launch of a new exciting international competition, red dot award: design concept in March 2005. Less than three months after the launch of the new competition, red dot again surprised Asia’s design community with the announcement of a 2nd red dot design museum and the creation of red dot traffic, a creative hub, right in the heart of Singapore’s most prosperous business district.
